Workshop Overview
Workshops can be 2 hr., Half Day or Full Weekend formats.
Out of Your Head and Into Your Life
Most of us have trouble staying present. Our loop of endless mind chatter takes up far too much of our time and energy and hampers our happiness and the accomplishment of our goals. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
Doug Motel has developed a series of simple but highly effective exercises that can help us use attention, humor & laughter and subtle shifts in perspective to dissipate the unproductive noise of our “inner critic” and access our deeper wells of joyous creativity and inner focus.
This workshop combines humor, the learning of powerful transformative inner techniques, attitude adjustment and meditative attention to help us transmute stress into a useful, positive fuel we can harness to achieve our goals and enjoy life.
There is a “place” where a quiet but focused inner voice calls us to bring our attention back into real time and away from the daydreaming that fills so much of our hours. You will discover highly effective, practical tools to help you:
--Get present in the here and now
--Overcome financial fears and phobias
--Let go of outdated patterns of behavior
--Focus productively on tasks at hand (“mental martial arts”)
--Learn to cultivate an “attitude of gratitude”
--And learn to access that “Ahh, this is not so serious,” feeling at will, thereby acquiring the ability to defuse tension and stay centered.
Join Doug Motel, a deeply compassionate, supportive coach and sincere student of inner transformation, in a safe, playful yet focused environment filled with laughter and learning and discover how to “get here now” and find the tools and inspiration you need to create the life you want.
Come learn how to see the “drama” of life from both a deeper and a lighter perspective and use that energy to fuel a far more fulfilling and productive life. This workshop is especially recommended for: health care professionals, people with addictions, artists, business people…and anyone with a mind….
Doug Motel is an experienced project coach, speaker and performer of solo-plays whose work has been seen around the U.S. and internationally. His greatest passion is creating unique ways to bring the healing power of humor directly to people in need of a kind of “personal theatre” that inspires them to make real and lasting changes in the way they live.
For the past 15 years, teaching people to “laugh while they learn,” Doug has presented a unique combination of performance, lively dialogue, meditation, and thought provoking exercises in workshop format for groups and organizations all over the U.S., ranging from business executives to people with life threatening illness and in rehabilitation facilities, to caregivers and volunteers.
